Why Donate to Take Me Home Huey?
The artist Steve Maloney and the non-profit organization Light Horse Legacy are partners in the realization of Take Me Home Huey. Together, they are inspired by their belief that art plays a vital role in our society and in fact some works can spark moments of clarity, inspiration and healing.
The Take Me Home Huey Project has multiple components, including a 47-foot Huey sculpture, a song, a 24-minute documentary film, an interactive social media presence, and a growing website that serves as a breathing “book” about the project as well as a resource for information about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We have come very far since first envisioning Take Me Home Huey in 2014. Now we want to complete the project and travel it from coast to coast to exhibit the installation to the widest audience possible. Your donation will help us achieve this mission.
Light Horse Legacy is a 501(c) 3 organization that restores and flys old military helicopters. Its mission is twofold: To encourage interest in aviation while promoting the healing of Americans of all conflicts who suffer the effects of PTSD. Light Horse Legacy is also an accredited partner in the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War. Your contribution will be a tax-deductible gift. Our Tax ID number is 26-2985842.
Should you desire your donation to honor a friend or loved one, you’ll find that option on the short navigation menu below. If you choose to, you can also automatically notify someone of your contribution. Minutes after your donation has been received you will be mailed a letter of acknowledgement and confirmation that serves as a donation receipt.
