Making of the TMHH Song

This video gives you a peek behind the scenes producing the Take Me Home Huey Song.

How it all started: through a mutual friend I was introduced to composer and singer Jeanie Cunningham. She was a real pro and had worked with many great music icons like Ike and Tina Turner, and Lionel Richie.

Prior to the studio production, we met several times to collaborate on ideas for a song when I discovered that Jeanie’s father had served in Korea and Vietnam and that Jeanie had been a civilian helicopter pilot. Jeanie had done countless corporate and commissioned songs and she had an incredible voice. She was just the perfect fit for this project.

When it came to record the song, Jeanie arranged instruments and recording equipment of the era to capture the authentic 1969 sounds performed by passionate musicians at Ocean Studios in Burbank, California.

This was my first time in a recording studio. I enjoyed watching the interactions of Jeanie with the musicians. It was a fun experience, and I am thrilled about the outcome.

If you are interested to learn more about the interaction with Jeanie and the meaning of the lyrics.
